We need your generous help as we return to the fun filled silent auction on August 31st. We are looking for new items and gift certificates to be bid on that day. Whether you choose to do an individual basket or team with friends and neighbors on a larger scale please help us continue this aid to North Warren Central School students. Popular items include gift certificates from local businesses, new handcrafted items, a lottery tree, alcohol, campy gift items....and kids baskets. Completed items should be returned to the office by August 29th. Please be sure to list your name and gift value on your item. If multiple items are enclosed please list.
There will also be tickets for a 50/50 drawing. We will be selling tickets at the annual meeting, during the auction and at the Labor Day event. The drawing will be held during that event. Tickets may also be purchased at the store.
The scholarship is honoring the memory of Anita VanDoren, a North Warren student and Wakonda staff member who died in 1996. Wakonda was able to award a $250 scholarship that year. With the generous support of shareholders larger multiple scholarships are now awarded annually. Please help keep the tradition flourishing.
2025 Auction

We have raised over $5,000.00 for the Anita Van Doren Scholarship Fund this year. Thank you to all of our local business and our shareholders who donated items. We couldn't do it without out your support.
A huge thank you to Nancy E. and Sue T. for running the Auction this year. Also, thank you to Nancy S. and MaryAnn S. for the many days that they helped. Thank you to all who helped them organize and pick up items, to many to name. It takes many weeks to make it a huge success. Thank you to all who purchased items or made a donation to the Scholarship Fund.
As of June 2021 we have given awards in Anita's name to the North Warren School District in the amount totaling over $30,000.00 since we started in 1997.
