End Of Season Activities

Wakonda Family Campground, Inc.

September 9, 2014

Dear Campers,

It doesn’t seem possible that end of the camping season is here and that it is time to start thinking about the fall and winter months ahead.  We know that some campers will start closing soon and we wanted to make you aware of our fall schedule and give you a few fall reminders.

Weather permitting; the campground water will stay on until October 13th. Please be aware that if weather conditions warrant the water might have to be shut down prior to this date.  The “B” bathroom will stay on until just after Columbus Day weekend.  We ask that your final pumpout be arranged by calling us in advance of your closing so that we can accommodate your needs and fit it into our schedule. If you have any questions or would like to set up a time for your final clean out please call Kim at (518)494-4865 or stop by the store and arrange a time.  Last pumpouts will be Monday October 6th and Tuesday October 7th weather permitting. A,C,E and F bathhouses will be shut down the week of October 6th.

The store will be open weekends through Sept. 30th. The hours will be 10:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.  Antifreeze is available at $6.49 + tax per gallon. Tarps are also available. The cost for 20x40 is $59.99 plus tax

Garbage pick-ups will be on Mondays and Fridays through October 3rd.  After October 3rd, everyone will be responsible for getting their own trash to the dumpster, which will be placed behind the old registration booth. If you have large items or need assistance please see Kim. Please note that we cannot accept any propane tanks or large batteries. Also large items such as refrigerators, gas grills and mattresses must be discussed with staff and may involve a disposal fee.

We would like to remind all campers to please disconnect and store water lines, sewer hoses, lattice, fences, wooden skirting, electric cords and to also remove screen doors and frames.  Please cover refrigerators, take down all outside lights and bring in all lawn figurines, flowers and other decorations. Garbage cans should be put in your site close to your trailer. All screen rooms, canopies, tents frames must be disassembled and stored properly.  We recommend that all trailers should be tarped and miscellaneous items must be consolidated and stored neatly under tarps.

We would like to remind shareholders that all small water craft should be returned to your campsite or cottage upon the end of the season or to an area approved by management. Should you need help in moving your rowboat/paddleboat/kayak/canoe, etc please call the office. Notify Kim or Chrissy to have the maintenance staff move your equipment in a safe manner to a designated location on your campsite/cottage determined by you. Any craft that is not moved by October 15, 2014 will be moved at the owner’s expense to a location to be determined by campground management for safe winter storage. Wakonda is not responsible for any damage done in the process while moving your equipment. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

If you have any question or need assistance please talk to one of our staff members.

Thank you,

The Wakonda Staff
